The United Arab Muslims Association (TUAMA)

About The United Arab Muslims Association (TUAMA)

The United Arab Muslims Association (TUAMA) is the organisation responsible for overseeing and managing the mosque, its services, programs, community affairs, and long-term development. Since its establishment, TUAMA has worked to ensure that the mosque remains a place of worship, guidance, unity, education, and service for the wider community.

TUAMA was officially established on 6 August 1985 by Sheikh Khaled Zeidan together with a dedicated group of community volunteers who shared a vision of building a strong, united, and faith-driven Muslim community in Australia. What began as a sincere grassroots effort grew into an established and respected non-profit organisation that continues to serve the community decades later.

For over forty years, TUAMA has remained free from internal politics and division, focusing instead on unity, sincerity, and service to the community. The organisation was built upon values of honesty, transparency, accountability, and trust, principles that continue to guide its leadership and operations today. Many of the founding members have since passed away, may Allah have mercy upon them, while others remain alive, active, and committed to serving the community with the same dedication that marked the organisation’s early years.

TUAMA has always regarded community donations as a sacred trust and responsibility. Throughout its history, the organisation has maintained a strong reputation for integrity and ethical conduct, remaining free from financial scandals, corruption, or misuse of community funds. This longstanding trust has allowed generations of worshippers and families to confidently support the mosque and its services.

While the organisation carries the name “The United Arab Muslims Association,” its mission has always extended far beyond any single ethnicity or background. The name reflects the historical context of its establishment in 1985, when the local Muslim community was predominantly Arab and united under a shared vision of strengthening Islam and supporting Muslims in Australia. Today, TUAMA proudly welcomes and serves people from all ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds, remaining committed to fostering unity, mutual respect, and positive contribution to Australian society.

Guided by its core values and Islamic principles, TUAMA continues to work towards preserving the mosque as a safe, welcoming, and beneficial institution for future generations, a place where faith, community, education, and service come together for the benefit of all.
