Founded on August 6th, 1985 by Sheikh Khaled Zeidan, Greenacre Grand Mosque has been a cornerstone of the Muslim community in Sydney for decades. Sheikh Khaled Zeidan was among the first Lebanese imams in Sydney and Australia, playing a vital role in the early growth of Islam in the country. May Allah have mercy on him and reward him for his lifelong service to the community.
After serving the community for over 40 years, Greenacre Grand Mosque is now undergoing a long-awaited redevelopment to meet the growing needs of future generations. The new project will include a modern mosque, a community hall level, dedicated parking, facilities for washing the deceased, and an intellectual hub designed for Islamic classes, study, and community learning.

As we look towards the future, this redevelopment represents more than just a building project, it is an investment in faith, knowledge, and community for generations to come. Our vision is to create a space that nurtures worship, learning, connection, and service, ensuring Greenacre Grand Mosque continues to benefit the community for many years ahead, insha’Allah.
